I don’t know if you all know but I’ve been working on updating my living room. I’ve made so much progress!
After what seemed like 50 shades of gray paint I decided on one. To see my journey to pick a paint color check out this post.
I had a hodge podge collection of random wall decor, lamps, and all other sorts of decor I’ve collected over the years. Basically it was just a mess and had no sense of order. This may surprise the ones who know me personally because I am so orderly in “real life.” Gosh it was bad.
I tossed or gave away almost everything in the room with the exception of the furniture and it’s slowly on it’s way out too.
These first two pictures are “BEFORE” and will give you an idea what I’m talking about.
If you can tell by these extremely bad, dark iPhone photographs it was a mess. I inherited the wall color which combined with the brown furniture and black curtains made the room feel like something a vampire would be at home in. Most of the furniture was hand-me-downs and I was apparently going for a black & red theme.
Here are some AFTER shots of the same room minus the wall color, decor and some of the furniture. The terrible orange stone fireplace even got a tiny makeover! (Ignore the carpet…the room is not finished by any means!)
